Botswana Diamonds has applied for eleven Prospecting Licences targeting polymetallic resources identified through an AI exploration program in Botswana. These licenses cover 7,322 square kilometers and focus on minerals such as Copper, Silver, Cobalt, and Gold across five mineralization types.

Botswana Diamonds has recently applied for eleven Prospecting Licenses in Botswana, aiming to secure vital polymetallic resources identified through an AI-driven exploration program. These licenses encompass a vast area of 7,322 square kilometers and target multiple minerals including Copper, Silver, Cobalt, Gold, Nickel, Zinc, and Platinum Group Metals (PGM).

The AI exploration initiative initially concentrated on diamond resources, but it was later expanded to uncover hidden polymetallic deposits. The applications specifically address five distinct mineralization types, which are:
1. Besshi: Volcanogenic massive sulfide deposits predominantly containing Copper.
2. Greenstone: Known for Copper and Nickel deposits.
3. MVT (Mississippi Valley-type): Targeting Lead and Zinc resources.
4. Sedex (sedimentary exhalative): Aiming for Lead, Zinc, and Silver.
5. Ultramafic: Focused on Platinum Group Metals.

John Teeling, Chairman of Botswana Diamonds, stated the importance of the AI program: “Our comprehensive, country-wide AI driven exploration programme in Botswana initially focused on diamonds. During the initial analysis of the big database, it became clear that the AI technology could be used to identify other unknown minerals opportunities… Our analysis so far has identified a series of targets in copper, cobalt, zinc, and gold. We have applied for eleven prospecting licenses, and I am pleased to report that the applications have been accepted.”

In summary, Botswana Diamonds is leveraging advanced AI technology to expand its exploration efforts beyond diamonds to identify and secure polymetallic resources. With eleven Prospecting Licenses applied for, the company aims to explore significant mineral resources including Copper, Cobalt, and Gold across various mineralization types. This development marks a strategic enhancement of their operational focus in Botswana, reflecting the company’s commitment to diversifying its mineral asset portfolio.
