The House of Representatives addressed the conflict between MPs Al-Jarrah and Al-Baqa’i, culminating in an apology from Al-Jarrah after an attempt to assault Al-Baqa’i over issues related to party expulsion.

The House of Representatives of Jordan recently resolved the ongoing dispute between MPs Muhammad Al-Jarrah and Qassem Al-Baqa’i. This resolution came after MP Al-Jarrah extended an apology to both MP Al-Baqa’i and the House as a whole.

The conflict initially escalated last Tuesday when MP Al-Jarrah reportedly attempted to assault his colleague Al-Baqa’i within the Parliament building. It has been noted that the disagreement between them revolved around Al-Jarrah’s expulsion from the Labor Party, where Al-Baqa’i serves as deputy secretary-general. Al-Jarrah claimed that Al-Baqa’i had insulted him by discussing the reasons for his dismissal.

The situation deteriorated into a physical confrontation, leading to an assault on MP Al-Baqa’i by Al-Jarrah. To mediate the situation, a parliamentary delegation was formed, headed by MP Saleh Al-Armouti, consisting of seven additional members. Last night, they visited MP Al-Baqa’i at his residence, during which Al-Jarrah offered his apology and the dispute was formally settled.

The resolution of the dispute between MPs Muhammad Al-Jarrah and Qassem Al-Baqa’i highlights the significance of diplomacy within the parliamentary sphere. The successful intervention by the delegation indicates the importance of communication and reconciliation among lawmakers to maintain decorum and professionalism in governance.
