Joshua Riibe has been named a “person of interest” in the disappearance of Sudiksha Konanki, a University of Pittsburgh student missing in the Dominican Republic. Video evidence shows her with Riibe prior to her disappearance. Authorities are investigating the case, and the FBI is involved, though no evidence of foul play has been reported.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office has designated Joshua Riibe as a “person of interest” in the ongoing search for Sudiksha Konanki, a missing college student in the Dominican Republic. This decision aligns with the emergence of new video evidence that is being analyzed in the investigation.

The video, reported by the Dominican Republic news outlet “Noticias SIN,” captures 20-year-old Sudiksha Konanki strolling with friends and a young man at the RIU Republica Resort around 4:30 a.m. on March 6. While her friends returned, Konanki and the unidentified young man remained off-screen.

Konanki, a student at the University of Pittsburgh and resident of Virginia, traveled to Punta Cana with five fellow students for Spring Break. Loudoun County Sheriff Michael Chapman provided this information to FOX 5, emphasizing the ongoing investigation into Konanki’s circumstances.

Investigators from the Dominican Republic’s Civil Defense suspect that Konanki may have drowned, though Sheriff Chapman noted that there is no concrete evidence to support this theory as of yet. The case remains classified as a missing persons investigation rather than a criminal matter.

Joshua Riibe, 24, has been identified by Sheriff Chapman as the person of interest; however, he has not been formally charged with any crime. Reports suggest that Riibe is cooperating with law enforcement but is also providing inconsistent accounts of the incident.

The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office is collaborating with the FBI, which is taking the lead on the case from a United States standpoint. It is noted that neither Konanki nor Riibe were acquainted prior to her trip to the Dominican Republic. This new information urges law enforcement to clarify the timeline of when Konanki was reported missing.

In summary, Joshua Riibe has been named a person of interest in the case of Sudiksha Konanki, a college student missing in the Dominican Republic. While authorities consider the possibility of drowning, no evidence supports this theory. The investigation remains ongoing, emphasizing collaboration with the FBI and the importance of establishing a clear timeline for the events leading to her disappearance.
