Reservations are recommended at India House’s three locations from Tuesday to Sunday.

The anticipation for Inlander Restaurant Week 2025 has been palpable, especially for me as the new food writer at the Inlander. Eager to explore Spokane’s vibrant culinary scene, my first dining experience was at India House, located at 4410 S. Regal St. My sister and I decided to indulge in the $35 per person menu during this gastronomic event.

To start our culinary journey, we ordered two appetizers. The subudana pakore featured crisp fritters made from tapioca, potato, cumin, and fresh herbs. In contrast, the singhara aloo tikki comprised fritters made from water chestnut flour, potato, and an array of spices. Both dishes were elegantly presented with a variety of sweet and creamy dipping sauces.

For the second course, I chose the chicken methi mali while my sister opted for the vegetarian alternative, methi matter mali, which contained tofu and green beans. The curries were rich and creamy, infused with fenugreek and ginger. We selected a medium spice level, allowing for a gradual build-up of heat, and each dish was accompanied by naan and rice to fully enjoy the flavorful sauces.

In the dessert category, I ordered the carrot cake halwa, my favorite dessert. This version consisted of roasted carrots cooked in butter, combined with nuts, raisins, and cardamom. Its crumbly yet moist texture provided a satisfying experience, leaving me guilt-free after indulging.

My sister’s choice was the paan ice cream, presented in an elegant chalice-like bowl. The initial taste of the refreshing betel leaf was surprising, complemented by rose petal jam, candied fennel, dates, and coconut flakes. This unique dessert quickly became addictive, leading us to savor every spoonful.

India House offers its regular menu alongside the $35 Restaurant Week special from Tuesday through Sunday, available from 11 am to 9 pm across its three locations. Reservations are highly encouraged and may be made by phone or through their website at indiahouse.us.
