On February 27, 2025, Manchester, Jamaica, saw the formal charging of 50-year-old Patrick Thompson, a licensed firearm holder, with two counts of murder and three counts of wounding with intent. Thompson, a resident of Levy Lane and employed as a telephone engineer, was arrested in connection with a shooting incident during a candlelight vigil that left two women dead and three others injured. The charges were confirmed by police shortly before 4:00 p.m.
