Inconclusive Post-Mortem Examination of Murdered Scottish Businessman in Kenya
A post-mortem on Campbell Scott, a Scottish businessman found dead in Kenya, was inconclusive in determining the cause of death. A post-mortem examination conducted on the body of Campbell Scott, a Scottish businessman found deceased in Kenya, was unable to ascertain the cause of his death. Mr. Scott’s body was discovered in a sack of pineapples in a forest located approximately 60 miles from Nairobi days after he disappeared from his hotel on February 17. He was discovered bound with ropes, and investigators are treating the incident as a murder case.
Two individuals have been apprehended in connection with the case; however, reports indicate that the injuries found on Mr. Scott’s body were deemed “too minor” to be the cause of death. Dr. Johansen Odour, the chief pathologist for the Kenyan government, revealed to Nation Africa that despite the presence of blunt trauma and multiple soft tissue injuries, further analysis is required to determine the cause of death.
Authorities have collected samples for additional investigations, including toxicology tests. Mr. Scott had reportedly visited a nightclub upon his arrival in Nairobi and was seen with an unidentified man who is now considered a suspect. Local media report that a taxi driver and a waiter from the nightclub are in custody and have assisted law enforcement in locating a relevant residence associated with the suspect.
Mr. Scott, who was a senior director at Fico, a credit scoring firm, was in Nairobi to attend a conference at the JW Marriott Hotel. He was scheduled to meet colleagues for a presentation but failed to return to his accommodation. Concerns over his whereabouts prompted his colleagues to file a police report after he could not be reached. His body was eventually discovered by a cattle herder in Makongo Forest on Saturday.
The post-mortem examination of Campbell Scott’s remains has not provided conclusive evidence regarding his cause of death, prompting further investigations. The case is being treated as a murder, with law enforcement apprehending two individuals linked to the incident. Ongoing efforts include additional toxicology testing and examination of the circumstances surrounding Mr. Scott’s disappearance and subsequent murder.
