  • Connected Minerals has completed a maiden drilling program at the Etango North-East project in Namibia.
  • The drilling resulted in 14 out of 15 holes returning economic uranium grades.
  • Significant intercepts include 5m at 358ppm uranium oxide from 88m depth.
  • Mineralisation remains open at depth and along strike at Etango.
  • At the Swakopmund project, the firm drilled 22 holes to assess promising targets identified by earlier surveys.

Connected Minerals Reports Significant Drilling Results

In an impressive stride for uranium exploration, Connected Minerals has recently achieved critical milestones with its operations in Namibia. At the Etango North-East project, the company has undertaken its inaugural drilling program, uncovering a wealth of stacked alaskites (leucogranite) sheets across the region. The efforts resulted in the completion of 15 reverse circulation (RC) holes, which totaled an impressive depth of 2,688 meters and were specifically aimed at high-priority areas determined from earlier rock-chip sampling.

Positive Outcomes Fuel Future Exploration Plans

The results have been quite encouraging, with 14 out of the 15 holes returning economic grades of uranium, highlighting the geological promise of the project. A few standout intercepts point to the potential for substantial yields; for instance, one notable sample yielded 5 meters with 358 parts per million (ppm) of uranium oxide (U₃O₈) starting from 88 meters deep, which included an exceptional measurement of 1 meter at 814 ppm. Other significant findings include 4 meters at 230 ppm from 47 meters and 3 meters at 312 ppm from a depth of 68 meters. Notably, mineralization remains open both at depth and along the strike, prompting the company to commence planning for a Phase 2 drilling campaign.

Swakopmund Drilling Underway with Further Evaluations Planned

In addition to the Etango project, Connected Minerals has also initiated a preliminary drilling effort at the Swakopmund uranium project, designated EPL 9162. This maiden drilling campaign encompassed 22 RC holes, amounting to 105 meters in total. Targets at Swakopmund were selected based on findings from a previous geophysical survey that had identified a series of potential paleochannels, including a significant anomaly extending 600 meters wide. “At Swakopmund, we will evaluate the results received and begin sketching out our next steps,” stated Warrick Clent, Managing Director and CEO of Connected Minerals. A subsequent market update will be released as the details for the Phase 2 program at Etango North-East are finalized.

In summary, Connected Minerals has made substantial progress with its uranium exploration at the Etango North-East project in Namibia, showcasing notable drilling results. The findings suggest a strong geological potential, with many assay results confirming economic uranium grades. Future drilling plans at both Etango and Swakopmund signal the company’s commitment to advancing its uranium mining endeavors.
