Violent Attacks in Niger State: Bank Driver Killed and Activist Assaulted

In Niger State, a bank driver named Mohammed Abo’ore was killed while assisting vigilantes in apprehending drug-related criminals. He was stabbed by an assailant and died at the hospital. In a separate incident, activist Nura Yarima was attacked by a group of suspects, resulting in serious injuries, with one suspect arrested. The Police Public Relations Officer confirmed both incidents, highlighting ongoing investigations.

In a tragic incident in Fadikpe, a suburb of Minna, Niger State, Mohammed Abo’ore, a driver for a second-generation bank, was killed while attempting to assist local vigilantes in apprehending hoodlums engaging in drug-related activities. Reports indicate that Abo’ore was stabbed by one of the assailants, Nura Buhari, during the confrontation and later succumbed to his injuries at Minna General Hospital.

According to Wasiu Abiodun, the Niger Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, the vigilantes had mobilized to the area following reports of criminal activity, and Abo’ore had volunteered to aid in the arrest of the suspects. Following the incident, one suspect, Abdullahi Rabiu, has been arrested and is currently under police investigation.

In a related incident, another public affairs commentator, Nura Yarima from Bosso, reported an assault by several individuals, including Mansir Kabir, Abubakar, Hamza, and Abu. They allegedly attacked him with dangerous weapons at a shop on Bosso Road. Yarima sustained significant injuries from this assault, and authorities have apprehended Kabir as investigations continue to pursue the other assailants involved.

The incidents in Niger State illustrate the ongoing issues with criminal activities and public safety, with tragic outcomes for individuals attempting to contribute to community safety.
