Tata.ev has launched its electric vehicle portfolio in Mauritius, marking its first international expansion beyond SAARC. The models include Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev. Allied Motors will assist with sales and after-sales support, catering to Mauritius’ growing focus on sustainable mobility while competing with existing electric vehicle brands in the region.

Tata.ev, a prominent electric vehicle manufacturer from India, has officially launched its electric vehicle portfolio in Mauritius. This marks its first venture outside the SAARC region, in collaboration with Allied Motors, which will provide essential sales and post-sales support. The introduction of the Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev aligns with Mauritius’ increasing emphasis on sustainable mobility and clean transportation solutions.

The Tiago.ev, targeting urban commuters, features a 24kWh battery with a commendable range of 190-210 km, and fast charging capabilities allow a 10% to 80% recharge in just 58 minutes. The Punch.ev, an electric compact SUV, has a larger 35kWh battery that offers a range of 270-290 km and includes premium features like a 26.03 cm infotainment system and wireless connectivity.

The flagship model, Nexon.ev, is powered by a 45kWh battery, granting an impressive range of 350-375 km and the ability to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.9 seconds. Enhanced with high-end amenities such as a JBL sound system, a 360° camera, and fast charging options, it is designed for performance and luxury. Each model is protected by an 8-year/160,000 km warranty for the battery and motor, along with a complimentary 7.2kW home charging wall box for every purchase.

Despite Mauritius’ evolving EV market, existing players like BYD, MG, and Nissan are already established with their models. Tata.ev aims to compete effectively with options like the BYD Dolphin, MG ZS EV, and Nissan Leaf. Through competitive pricing and a reputation for reliability, Tata.ev could potentially disrupt the current segment leaders.

The launch of Tata.ev in Mauritius signifies the company’s international expansion and dedication to provide quality electric vehicles. With comprehensive after-sales support from Allied Motors, Tata.ev is poised to make a significant impact on the island’s EV market. The future remains uncertain as to whether these vehicles will captivate the hearts of Mauritian consumers or if traditional gas-powered vehicles will continue to reign supreme.

Tata.ev has successfully expanded its electric vehicle offerings into the Mauritian market, introducing three compelling models: Tiago.ev, Punch.ev, and Nexon.ev. This initiative represents Tata’s first step beyond the SAARC region and aligns with local efforts towards sustainable transport. Through competitive pricing, robust features, and excellent after-sales support, Tata.ev is well positioned to establish a strong presence in the emerging EV market of Mauritius.
