Donald Trump’s administration has ordered the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office to employ spy satellites to monitor the US-Mexico border. This decision follows the arrest of a high-ranking MS-13 leader, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

Former President Donald Trump’s administration has mandated two intelligence agencies, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and the National Reconnaissance Office, to utilize spy satellites for monitoring activities at the US-Mexico border. This directive follows the recent arrest of a high-ranking member of the MS-13 gang, which underscores Trump’s ongoing commitment to combat illegal immigration and drug trafficking.

The operation aligns with the Department of Defense’s border engagement initiatives and the national emergency declaration made by Trump concerning border security. Law enforcement officials apprehended the unnamed 24-year-old suspect, believed to be among the top leaders of MS-13, in Woodbridge, Virginia, just outside Washington D.C.

Attorney General Pam Bondi praised the execution of the operation, stating, “[Law enforcement] executed a clean, safe operation and the bad guys in custody. And thanks to the FBI, we got one of the worst of the worst of the MS-13 off the streets this morning. Virginia and the country is a lot safer today.” This operation was a collaborative effort between the FBI, ATF, ICE, and the Virginia State Police.

President Trump expressed his approval of the arrest on social media, stating, “Just captured a major leader of MS13. Tom HOMAN is a superstar!” FBI Director Kash Patel highlighted the importance of law enforcement’s role, asserting, “This is what can happen when you put good cops in good places to take on bad guys… We are proud to be here standing with these brave warriors.”

In summary, the Trump administration is intensifying its efforts to monitor the US-Mexico border through satellite surveillance, particularly following the capture of a significant MS-13 gang leader. This move, coupled with coordinated law enforcement efforts, emphasizes the administration’s focus on combating illegal immigration and drug trafficking. The operation has garnered praise from various officials, reinforcing the importance of effective law enforcement in ensuring public safety.
