The incident, which occurred at the Capitol Building on February 18, 2025, involved a gray Nissan Jeep parked near the Representative’s Wing and lacking a license plate.

Chief Inspector Frank P. Banda has been suspended without pay for two months for unlawfully entering the vehicle, while Sergeant Sam C.F. Karbah faces a one-month suspension for unlawfully opening it. The actions were prompted by reports from Honorable Yekeh Y. Kolubah, who noted the theft of cash and valuable personal items from the vehicle.

The investigation by the Professional Standards Division (PSD) revealed the loss of substantial amounts of money and various personal effects from the Jeep. The LNP has expressed a commitment to transparency and accountability and indicated that any established links to the alleged theft would lead to further investigations by the Crimes Services Division.

Additionally, the LNP has invited Jack Traore, a person of interest involved in drilling the vehicle’s door, for questioning. The Police reiterated their dedication to professional integrity and thanked the public for their understanding as they navigate these serious issues.
