In Meerut, Muskaan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Shukla, the accused in the murder of Muskaan’s husband, Saurabh Rajput, are currently detained in separate sharing cells in Chaudhary Charan Singh district jail. Although they requested to be housed together, prison authorities confirmed this request could not be accommodated per jail regulations.
Reportedly, Sahil is experiencing withdrawal symptoms and appears restless in custody. Both Muskaan and Sahil have not engaged with other inmates and have not had any visitors. Initially, Muskaan refrained from eating on her first day in jail; however, she has since resumed her meals. The couple is under observation, having received counseling at the prison’s de-addiction center.
Muskaan and Sahil, currently in judicial custody following their arrest last week, are implicated in the murder of Saurabh Rajput, a former Merchant Navy officer. The police allege that Muskaan drugged Saurabh on March 4, ultimately stabbing him to death before dismembering his body and concealing the remains in a cement-sealed drum. The duo subsequently traveled to Himachal Pradesh, where they misled friends and family into believing Saurabh was still alive.
Muskaan and Saurabh were married in 2016 and shared a six-year-old daughter. Their relationship had deteriorated, particularly after Saurabh discovered Muskaan’s affair with Sahil around 2019. Despite contemplating a divorce, Saurabh prioritized their child’s future. Muskaan’s parents assert that the murder was motivated by fears that Saurabh would halt their drug use. They emphasize that Saurabh was supportive and deserves justice, while his family alleges that Muskaan was primarily motivated by monetary gain in her marriage.
The tragic case of Muskaan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla unveils the disturbing elements of their relationship, leading to the brutal murder of Saurabh Rajput.
