The suspects, identified as two men, were found in a Toyota Passo driven by 34-year-old Antony Kimemia Wanyeki. The police report reveals that the suspects had requested a ride from Kiambu Posta to Jamaica area in Githunguri, where a search revealed tools commonly utilized in vehicle vandalism and assaults.
Among the items recovered were an improvised wire, a sisal rope, various tools, and a navy blue marvin, suspected to be used for disguising purposes. One suspect possessed two national ID cards, raising suspicions of identity fraud, while the other had a smartphone utilized to summon the ride.
Investigators believe that these individuals posed as legitimate Uber customers before attacking drivers, particularly in remote areas of Kiambu County, leading to vehicle damages. The police announced that further investigations are ongoing and that the suspects would be identified by other Uber drivers recently victimized in similar incidents.
