Danico Launches Peru-Inspired Cocktails in New Xplorer Menu

Danico in Paris has launched the fifth edition of its Xplorer series, featuring a cocktail menu inspired by Peru’s culture. Owner Nico de Soto and bar manager Coco Gaudin created 12 original cocktails celebrating Peru’s heritage, including Titicaca and Chicha Morada. The series reflects the owner’s travel experiences, with Kota liqueur recently launching in the US.
The Parisian bar, Danico, has unveiled the fifth edition of its Xplorer series, focused on the vibrant culture and heritage of Peru. This series, initiated in 2023, showcases a new menu every six months that is inspired by various global regions. The owner, Nico de Soto, draws upon his travels, with his first visit to Peru dating back to 2007, which greatly influenced his cocktail creations.
De Soto, in collaboration with bar manager Coco Gaudin, has crafted 12 unique cocktails that celebrate Peru’s rich tapestry of indigenous and colonial flavors. One featured cocktail is Titicaca, named after a prominent Peruvian lake, which includes a blend of Rémy Martin VSOP Cognac, pumpkin seeds, and grilled sweet potato milk. Another, Chicha Morada, is inspired by the traditional Peruvian drink made with purple corn, enhancing it with Grey Goose Vodka and rectified apple juice.
In addition, Leche de Tigre creatively combines Citadelle Gin with ceviche distillate, lime, and coriander. Tupánanchiskama, which translates to “see you soon” in Quechua, features tonka-infused Bacardí 8 rum mixed with roasted coffee and arroz con leche. Recently, Nico de Soto also launched his pandan liqueur, Kota, in the United States.
