Two men, Robert Cudjoe, 19, and Isaac Aidoo, 18, have each been sentenced to three months imprisonment with hard labor by the Tarkwa District Court One for conspiring and stealing faulty car parts valued at GH¢17,500 at Bogoso Junction. The pair pleaded guilty to the charges related to their criminal activities.
The prosecution, led by Police Sergeant Enoch Assan-Donkoh, revealed that the complainant, Christopher Dorglo, an auto mechanic, had multiple faulty vehicle parts stored at his workshop for repairs. On October 25, 2024, Cudjoe, Aidoo, and an accomplice named Emma, now at large, executed their plan to steal these items during the early hours.
The stolen items included gearboxes and a defective car battery, which they concealed behind a building. Aidoo then hired a commercial tricycle rider to transport the items. However, their operation was interrupted by a witness, Eric Wilson, who questioned them and subsequently alerted others. Cudjoe and the tricycle rider were apprehended, while Aidoo and Emma fled.
After the theft was discovered by Dorglo, police investigations led to Aidoo’s arrest, who subsequently confessed and implicated Cudjoe and Emma. Law enforcement agencies are continuing efforts to locate Emma. Cudjoe and Aidoo have been formally charged following police inquiries.
In conclusion, Robert Cudjoe and Isaac Aidoo have been sentenced for their involvement in the conspiracy and theft of faulty car parts. Their actions not only engaged them in criminal activities but also demonstrate the collaborative efforts of law enforcement to ensure justice. The situation involving the third conspirator, Emma, remains unresolved as authorities pursue him.
