The monument inscribes historic battlefields where these soldiers fell, including “Legnica 9. IV. 1241,” which refers to the Battle of Legnica against Batu Khan’s forces.
An eternal flame, maintained by the Representative Regiment of the Polish Armed Forces, burns in the memorial’s center.
