A Minnesota woman, Jackie Shroyer, has been charged with the murder of her husband, Beau Shroyer, during a Christian mission to Angola. Arrested in November, she is accused of plotting the murder with at least two others. The couple’s children are back in the U.S. while investigations continue into the circumstances surrounding Beau’s death.

A Minnesota woman has been charged with murdering her husband during a Christian missionary trip to Angola last year. Jackie Shroyer’s husband, Beau Shroyer, aged 44, was found deceased in a vehicle in Thienjo, Angola, in October. Following an investigation, Jackie Shroyer was arrested in November for allegedly orchestrating a murder-for-hire scheme.

The Lakes Area Vineyard Church confirmed that Jackie Shroyer has been officially charged as a “co-author” in her husband’s murder. Pastor Troy M. Eason expressed profound sorrow over the situation, stating, “It saddens me immensely to have to share with you that we were notified that Jackie has been formally charged as a co-author in the murder of her husband.”

Shroyer is currently in custody in Angola, with a trial expected to occur within six months. She is being represented by Angolan and American legal counsel. The case has drawn attention from the FBI and the U.S. State Department as well, reflecting its complexity.

In addition to Jackie Shroyer, two other individuals have been arrested in connection to the murder—Bernadino Isaac Elisa, a security guard, and Isalino Musselenga Kayoo, identified as the “mastermind” of the plot. Another suspect, Gelson Guerreiro Ramos, remains at large.

The Shroyer children, aged between 9 and 17, have returned to the U.S. and are receiving care from SIM USA and Lakes Vineyard Church. Reports indicate that Jackie may have had motives tied to her desire to remain in Angola, with police looking into potential personal relationships involved in the case.

Beau Shroyer, known for his role as a student resource officer with the Detroit Lakes Police Department, had been committed to serving others in Angola alongside his family. Tragically, reports suggest he was found alongside his personal belongings and his “distraught” wife after his death, further complicating the narrative of this horrifying incident.

The murder of Beau Shroyer by his wife, Jackie, during a Christian mission in Angola reveals a shocking legal and moral crisis. As the investigation deepens, multiple suspects have emerged, highlighting possible motivations intertwined with personal relationships. The impact of this tragedy extends to the couple’s children, who are now seeking support back in the U.S. This case continues to evoke deep concern and sadness within their community and beyond.
