John Jordan, a Conservative, was re-elected in Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston, leading by nearly 7,000 votes over Liberal Rob Rainer. This riding has been a Conservative stronghold for over two decades. Voter turnout was over 46 percent, with Jordan securing nearly half of the total votes cast.

In the recent Ontario Election of 2025, Conservative candidate John Jordan successfully retained his seat in Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston. With approximately 90 percent of the polls reported, Jordan led his Liberal opponent Rob Rainer by nearly 7,000 votes. He secured nearly half of all the votes cast in a riding that extends from the outskirts of Ottawa to the St. Lawrence River.

Over the past two decades, the riding has been a stronghold for the Conservative Party, with Jordan first elected in 2022 when he won over 50 percent of the vote. The Liberal Party has not held this seat since 2003 when it was known as Hastings-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington. Prior to Jordan, Randy Hillier held the seat for 15 years, known for his populist campaigns on landowner rights and opposition to certain government policies during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Jordan, having previously worked as a health administrator, served as parliamentary secretary to the Minister of Agriculture in the Ford government. His primary opponents in this election included Liberal Rob Rainer, a former township reeve, and NDP candidate John MacRae, a federal public servant. Marlene Spruyt represented the Green Party and sought to advocate for public health as a retired family doctor.

David Motton ran for the New Blue Party, which aims to halt what it describes as “woke” activism in government. Additionally, Shane O’Neill contested the election as an Independent candidate, while Wendy Dillistone-Whitaker represented the Ontario Party, focusing on themes of freedom, family, and faith.

The voter turnout was reported to exceed 46 percent among the approximately 90,000 electors in the riding.

The 2025 Ontario Election results indicate a strong continuation of Conservative leadership in the Lanark-Frontenac-Kingston riding, with incumbent John Jordan securing a significant victory. The historical voting patterns showcase the district’s reliability for the Conservative Party over the past decades. The results reflect a diverse range of candidates, yet the Conservative stronghold remains unyielding.
