Six individuals have been confirmed dead and around 30 are missing following landslides in Masugu village, eastern Uganda. Local officials indicated that recovery efforts are ongoing, with the possibility of the death toll increasing.

A devastating series of landslides occurred in Masugu village, located in Bulambuli district, eastern Uganda, resulting in the tragic loss of six lives and around 30 individuals reported missing. According to Bulambuli district commissioner Faheera Mpalanyi, the number of casualties may increase as search and recovery operations continue. Amongst the deceased, authorities reported the recovery of a baby’s body, emphasizing the tragic impact of this natural disaster on the local community.
